Welcome to the Little Oat blog

Hi, and thank you for being here. If you've found your way to this little corner of the internet, chances are you're homeschooling too — or thinking about it, or just curious. Either way, I'm so glad you stopped by.

I'm a homeschooling mom. Somewhere along the way of teaching my own kids to read, write, work through math, and grow up bilingual, I started building small tools to make our days calmer and more organized. What began as a few things cobbled together for my own family slowly turned into apps and software I thought other families might find helpful too. That's how Little Oat came to be.

What this blog is

This is where I'll share our journey — the real, unpolished version. Not a highlight reel, and definitely not a lecture. Just one mom writing down what's worked for us, what hasn't, and the little bits of hard-won advice I wish someone had handed me when we started.

You can expect posts about the everyday rhythms of home learning, how we approach different subjects, practical things like record-keeping and staying compliant with our state, and the occasional honest reflection on the hard days too. Some posts will be useful guides. Others will just be encouragement for when you need it.

A gentle reminder

Everything I write here comes from our experience. Every family is different, every child is different, and what worked at our kitchen table might look completely different at yours — and that's exactly how it should be. Please take what's helpful, leave what isn't, and always trust your own judgment about your own kids.
